About the Grant$30,000 to support The Fugees Project (MAP 2010), a new play by Horizon Theatre, in partnership with Atlanta based playwright Suehyla El-Attar. About the ProjectThe Fugees Proejct tells the story of a Clarkston, GA soccer team made up of refugee children from war-torn countries. The team garnered national attention when their practice rights were revoked at the local town park. The play reveals the challenges of adjusting to life in a new, and sometimes unwelcoming place. It also speaks to the ever-evolving face of America, and how citizens are adjusting (or not) to its changes.
