2009 MAP Application now open!!!

Dear Artists and Arts Professionals,

Today we open the 2009 MAP Fund Grant application! Welcome!

I wanted to highlight a few thing new to this year’s application, and, as ever, welcome you to be in touch with the MAP office as you work on your proposal.

The most important thing to note:

THE NEW DEADLINE DATE AND TIME Tuesday January 20, 2009 at 2pm EST

We have moved the date in order to make notification as early in the year as possible and shorten the review time. The change is based on feedback from grantees and applicants.

Also note the NEW HOUR FOR DEADLINE: 2pm ET. This is so staff can be available to answer questions in the final hours before the application closes.

Other important things:

-  The deadline, January 20, 2009, is on the heels of APAP, which involves many MAP applicants. A good reason to start your application early.

-  January 20 is also the date of the presidential inauguration (HURRAY!). Please start your application early so you'll be free to celebrate.

-  We’ve added a Project Description “Tips” section. Check it out. Let us know if it’s helpful.

-  Stay tuned to the MAP website for the coming MAP log, delivering ongoing application help and reports from the field.
